AdCenter Tips: Using the Negative Keyword Conflicts Report

Ever wonder why your ad might not be showing on the search results page?

There are many reasons this might happen: the geographic settings are off, the budget is depleted, or the time of day and day of week settings are incorrect. If none of these are the problem, investigate whether the negative keywords added to the campaign / ad group level are conflicting with the keywords you are bidding on.

adCenter offers a helpful, easy-to-pull report within the interface that will show you the account, campaign, ad group and keyword you are bidding on. Most importantly, it shows the negative keyword hindering you from showing on that keyword. It also shows the conflict level: whether the conflict exists at an ad group or campaign level.

Once you have drawn the report you essentially have three options:

1) Remove the negative keyword(s) that are blocking your keyword from showing

2) Change the blocking negative to an exact-match negative

3) Remove the term from the account considering you’re not showing up on it anyway.

I would suggest you spend a couple of minutes drawing the report and reviewing, you might be surprised to see some solid keywords on the list that you are not showing up for. Once live, those keywords could be great revenue generators.
